On February 7th Valve added the first major update to Counter Strike 2, and what an update it is! The game’s initial release has been received rather poorly by players, mainly because of the various technical issues that have plagued the game client. This in turn has led to an exodus of many old-time Counter Strike players, and for a brief time some gamers were even convinced that Valve is turning its back on the beloved FPS.
Luckily, with this update, it’s safe to say that Counter Strike devs have redeemed themselves. Besides fixing many of the various technical errors, adding the CS2 Arms Race mode and two more maps to the game, Valve has finally added what everyone was waiting for – first new CS2 skins. In this article, we’ll dive right into everything you need to know about the new Kilowatt Case.

What Is The Kilowatt Case?
The Kilowatt Case is the first CS2 weapon case. Like other weapon cases in the game, any payer can receive a Kilowatt Case of their own after finishing a match. Like other weapon cases, you’ll also need to purchase a key from the in-game store to open the Kilowatt Case. Upon opening the case, you get one of the various CS2 weapon skins contained inside. You’re probably thinking to yourself that this sounds exactly like every other CS2 weapon case. So, what makes the Kilowatt Case so unique?
First Zeus Skin
The update has introduced a serious re-work of the classic one-hit weapon, the Zeus x27 taser. Initially, the weapon could be purchased for $200 and contained only a single shot, meaning that you had to re-purchase it every time. Zeus x27 is a very high-risk weapon, since you have to get up close, and can only use Zeus effectively at melee range. However, if you do manage to nail it, you will instantly kill your target, even if they are fully armored. The February 7th update made some differences to this classic weapon. Most notably, Zues x27 now has a new, refreshed model, which features a power meter on the gun. Zeus x27 starts each round with 100% of power, which gets depleted to 0% after each use, and takes 30 seconds to recharge, after which you can use the taser again.
The new model isn’t the only visual improvement that the Zeus x27 has received, as the update has also added the first Zeus x27 skin to the game. Zeus x27 Olympus is a historical addition to the game, and Valve has definitely decided to go all out with their creative energy, considering the impressive look of this skin. At the moment, Zeus x27 Olympus is quite expensive, and considering its historical significance the price will probably continue to go up.
First CS2 Knife Skin
While the Zeus x27 Olympus certainly is impressive, it’s still not the main selling point of this weapon case. Kilowatt Case has added a completely new knife skin to the game – The Kukri knife. This weapon is famous for its signature curved blade, meant for chopping down heavy objects (and other people, of course). Players who decide to open the Kilowatt Case have a chance to obtain one of the following rare knife skins:
- Kukri Knife | Fade
- Kukri Knife | Slaughter
- Kukri Knife | Crimson Web
- Kukri Knife | Blue Steel
- Kukri Knife | ★ (Vanilla)
- Kukri Knife | Case Hardened
- Kukri Knife | Night Stripe
- Kukri Knife | Stained
- Kukri Knife | Forest DDPAT
- Kukri Knife | Urban Masked
- Kukri Knife | Scorched
- Kukri Knife | Boreal Forest
- Kukri Knife | Safari Mesh
At the moment all Kukri knives are relatively expensive, with the cheapest Safari Mesh finish available for $286,45. It’s still hard to tell how exactly their price will change, but the most expensive variants, such as Fade or Crimson Web, will most likely only continue to increase in price. First Skins For New Weapon Models
The Zeus and knife skins aren’t the only impressive weapon skins players can open from the Kilowatt Case. One of the biggest introductions of this update are the first weapon skins for new gun models. All of the previous weapon skins that were available in Counter Strike 2 were ported from the previous version of the game, CS:GO. The Kilowatt Case skins are the first set of weapon skins, designed entirely in the new and improved Source 2 engine. Valve has really made great use of the new technical capabilities of their game, since all of the Kilowatt collection skins look extremely impressive. Some of them, such as the AWP Chrome Cannon or the AK-47 Inheritance, include many tiny details and features, that would not be possible with the previous graphics engine.
The full list of all Kilowatt case skins include the following:
- Special rare Kukri knife skins
- AK-47 | Inheritance
- AWP | Chrome Cannon
- M4A1-S | Black Lotus
- Zeus x27 | Olympus
- USP-S | Jawbreaker
- Glock-18 | Block-18
- M4A4 | Etch Lord
- Five-SeveN | Hybrid
- Sawed-Off | Analog Input
- MP7 | Just Smile
- MAC-10 | Light Box
- SSG 08 | Dezastre
- Tec-9 | Slag
- UMP-45 | Motorized
- XM1014 | Irezumi
- Nova | Dark Sigil
- Dual Berettas | Hideout
Summing Up
The Call to Arms update was a major addition to the game, with many players not sure what to even expect. Thankfully, Valve again managed to shatter everyone’s expectations, and hopefully this awesome addition to the game will be able to break the spell that the game’s poor initial release has placed on the community.
