The Counter Strike 2 update was a huge new addition to the game, completely overhauling various aspects of the game. Besides various features, such as the new CS2 ranked mode and improved game engine, the most notable change was the immense graphical overhaul and the new CS2 skins.
CS2 skins trading is an important aspect of the game, and many players open cases and trade skins on the Steam community market, often worth thousands of dollars. The new Source 2 engine overhaul has changed the looks of various skins, in some cases even increasing their prices.
However, one of the most shocking discoveries so far was made by one of the members of the Counter Strike 2 community, who found some hints towards Valve introducing new transparent skins in CS2.
Leaked CS2 Transparent Skins
Before CS2 full release, gamers could access the limited test version of the game, which allowed them to check out some of the initial builds of Counter Strike 2. Players could see for themselves how the new engine ran on their PCs, how the new game feels, and most importantly, how the new CS2 skins look.
As is always the case with virtually any new CS 2 release, the gaming community immediately jumped to data mining to discover all of the new CS2 screts. The Counter Strike 2 release was the biggest update in the game, and because of that the limited tests also included immense amounts of data for data miners to pick from.
One of the most popular modders and CS2 data miners, Zool, is responsible for the classic offensive project and is well-known within the community. While browsing through the files available in the limited test Zool discovered one important detail that was missing from the previous game versions – modeled bullets.
This might not sound like such an impressive change, however, as Zool pointed out, this is a significant detail, and there must have been a reason modeled bullets where added to guns. According to Zool, this means that we will most likely see truly transparent skins in the future.
Are There Any Transparent Skins In CS2?
Sadly, there are still no fully transparent skins in CS2. The first new weapon collection in CS2 added in the Kilowatt case included some awesome new additions, like the first Zeus x27 skin, but no transparent skins yet. There is a community-created AK-47 Wireframe, which, although it might look transparent, is only using the CS2 light graphic features to create an illusion of fully transparent skin.
However, while there are no transparent skins in the game yet, there is a nice selection of x-ray skins available in various loot boxes. Although these aren’t really transparent and are only painted to resemble such a look, they still can upgrade your looks, if you’re looking for something that will give your CS2 inventory a strange look. Here are some of the best x-ray skins you can add to your loadout in CS2 today!
