What Else Was Added in The New CS2 Update?

Weapon skins are definitely the most important part of this update. However, it also came with a number of tweaks and changes, which deserve their own mention. Here are the most important features added with the new CS2 update:

New Armory Content

The armory update included a lot of content, but the most important feature added was definitely the new progression system introduced to the game, the armory pass. Players who purchased an armory pass (or two) could complete special quests, which reward them with points for their performance, that can later be traded within the pass for rewards.

The rewards in the pass include many different items, such as a random CS2 sticker, CS2 charms, or rare skins available only within the pass. With this update, the Desert Eagle Heat Treated has been replaced within the armory content reward track by the XM1014 Solitude. Just like the previous skin, this one can be yours for 25 armory pass stars. Also, The Train 2025 Collection skins can now be obtained within the Armory Pass.

Inferno Changes

Inferno, one of the most popular active duty maps in the game, received some significant balance changes. Here are all the official Inferno patch notes:

  • Adjusted Banana to more closely match the size of the CS:GO version
  • Simplified background behind T ramp
  • Simplified view into Pit
  • Simplified background of Bombsite B
  • Removed step on sides of Arch hallway
  • Removed pixel gap at Coffin
  • Adjusted crates on steps up to balcony so players step up reliably
  • Adjusted or removed props throughout map
  • Adjusted Player and Grenade collision throughout map

Train Changes

Inferno wasn’t the only map to receive a significant overhaul. Train is a controversial map, mainly because it has some balancing issues due to its overall size and scope. That’s also why Train has received a significant overhaul in the latest updates. All of the Train changes added in the last patch include:

  • Fixed a bug where player shadows would render through windows above A main
  • Fixed some holes in the world
  • Simplified back wall by door to Z
  • Simplified background by upper B entrance
  • Shortened overhead roof rail in A site, to make it easier to throw utility into site
  • Replaced see-through grating on catwalk outside of Z door
  • Replaced see-through fences at top if Ivy with solid version
  • Simplified brick wall by Ivy
  • Fixed grenade collision on upper B arch

In Conclusion

While on the surface it might seem like a small update, all of the skins added will definitely shake up the market.
