Dust 2 Callouts in CS2: Every Position and What It Is For (2026)

Dust 2 Callouts in CS2: Every Position and What It Is For (2026)
On this page

This guide explains all 30 Dust 2 callouts you will hear in CS2, the place names teammates use when they call an enemy. They are grouped into six areas: T Spawn and Outside Long, Long A, A site with Short and CT Spawn, Mid, the Tunnels, and B site. For each callout you get where it is, what it is for and which side usually holds it, plus a map of every area. We also list the changes Valve made to Dust II in CS2 from 2024 to 2026, taken from the official patch notes, and the prices of the Dust 2 skins on SkinsMonkey, checked on November 5, 2026.

Dust II was made by David Johnston and first shipped with Counter-Strike 1.1 on March 13, 2001. In the game files and in Valve’s notes the map is called Dust II, and most players write Dust 2 or Dust2. It came back to the Active Duty map pool on April 25, 2024, so you can play it in Premier as well as in Competitive. Where players use a second name for the same spot, we give it next to the main one.

Two sites and one long lane: how Dust II is laid out in CS2

Ts start at the bottom of the map and CTs start near the top, between the two sites. A site is in the top right corner. Ts reach it through Long A on the right edge of the map or through Catwalk, which climbs from mid to A Short. B site is in the top left corner. Ts reach it through Upper Tunnels, and CTs come in from the other side through B Doors.

Mid runs down the center from Top Mid to Mid Doors. It connects to both sites: Catwalk leads up to A, and Lower Tunnels leads to the tunnel system and B. Because CT Spawn is close to A, CTs rotate to A fast and need more time to reach B. Most rounds start with a fight for Long Doors or for mid.

When Valve moved Dust II to CS2, it kept the layout of the map and changed the graphics and lighting. The changes since then are small. These are the dates from the official notes:

  1. Apr 25, 2024 Dust II replaces Overpass in Active Duty.
  2. Jul 22, 2024 Crate stack outside CT Spawn toward A is modified.
  3. Feb 6, 2025 Valve updates the Dust II radar image.
  4. Apr 28, 2026 Xbox is uncovered to reveal a hidden jump spot.
  5. Jul 8, 2026 Pixel gap and clipping fixed Outside Tunnel.

Between those updates Valve fixed a hole in a brick stack on B site in July 2024, adjusted clipping at B site in October 2024 and closed a pixel gap in a door Outside Long in March 2026. One day after the Xbox change, on April 29, 2026, it also blocked visibility through a corner of Xbox. Since July 8, 2026 the Active Duty pool is Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke, and it has not changed as of November 5, 2026.

Dust II on your loadout: the 2021 Dust 2 Collection

Dust II has two skin collections of its own. The newer one is the 2021 Dust 2 Collection, which Valve added with Operation Riptide in September 2021. Its skins also come in the Dust II Souvenir Packages from the Majors, from Stockholm 2021 to Budapest 2025. The top skin is the AK-47 | Gold Arabesque, the only Covert skin in the collection. The Classified skins are the SSG 08 | Death Strike and the UMP-45 | Fade, and the Restricted ones include the M4A4 | Red DDPAT and the USP-S | Orange Anolis. On November 5, 2026 the AK-47 | Gold Arabesque started at $1,044.12 on SkinsMonkey.

The full list of 19 skins and the Souvenir packages is on The 2021 Dust 2 Collection page in our WIKI. The older Dust 2 Collection from 2013 is much cheaper. Its top skin, the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade, started at $0.92 on November 5, 2026, and Valve removed that collection from the Weekly Care Package drop list on January 21, 2026. Our guide to CS2 collections explains how map collections work. You can trade for any of these skins on SkinsMonkey, and you can check what your own items are worth in the CS2 Inventory Value Checker.

T Spawn, Outside Long and T Ramp: where every T round starts

Dust 2 callouts: t side area

Ts have three ways out of spawn. Right goes to Outside Long and Long Doors, the middle goes down Suicide to Top Mid, and left goes down T Ramp to Outside Tunnels and the way to B. The first seconds decide the round plan, because Long Doors and Upper Tunnels are on opposite sides of the map.

CalloutWhere it isWho uses it and why
T SpawnThe Terrorist start at the bottom of the map.Ts buy and split here. Routes go to Long, Mid and the Tunnels.
T RampThe slope on the left side of T Spawn, down toward Outside Tunnels.Ts going to B pass it. A T here is still far from the site.
Outside LongThe open area between T Spawn and Long Doors.Ts gather here before they go through Long Doors. CTs who come through the doors early fight here.

When you call a T on this side, say how far he has come. A T at Outside Long can be at Long Doors in a few seconds, while a T on T Ramp is still on the way to the Tunnels.

Long Doors, Pit and Long A: the long way to A

Dust 2 callouts: long area

Long is the right edge of the map. Ts go through Long Doors, turn at Blue and walk up Long A to the ramp of A site. CTs hold the lane from Pit at the bottom, from A Car at the top and from the site itself. Many rounds on Dust II start with an AWP duel down this lane.

CalloutWhere it isWho uses it and why
Long DoorsThe double doors between Outside Long and the Long corner. The first fight for Long. Ts flash through them, CTs peek or hold them early.
BlueThe blue box in the corner right after Long Doors. The name comes from its color.Ts who take it cover the doors for teammates. CTs who walk up Long check it first.
PitThe lower area at the bottom end of Long A, facing Long Doors.A classic CT AWP position that sees the doors from far away.
Side PitThe narrow spot on the right edge, next to Pit.A CT hides here to surprise Ts who come through the doors.
Long AThe long open lane from the Long corner up to A site. Players also say Long. The main T route to A. CTs hold it from Pit, A Car and the site.
A CarThe car near the top of Long A, before A Ramp.Cover for a CT who holds Long close to the site. Ts clear it before the ramp.

Two calls matter most here. “Long Doors” tells your team that Ts are about to come out, and “Pit” or “Car” tells a T where the CT on Long stands. Valve closed a pixel gap in a door Outside Long on March 11, 2026, so do not rely on old spots where you could see through it.

A site: A Ramp, Goose, A Short and CT Spawn

Dust 2 callouts: a site area

A site is a raised platform in the top right corner. Ts from Long come up A Ramp on the right, Ts from mid come over A Short on the left. CTs arrive from CT Spawn, which is only a few seconds away, so a T plant on A has to be fast or well covered with smokes.

CalloutWhere it isWho uses it and why
A SiteThe bombsite on the raised platform in the top right corner.Ts plant here. CTs retake from CT Spawn and Short.
A RampThe ramp from the top of Long A up to the site.Ts from Long enter here. A CT on site watches the top of it.
GooseThe corner at the back of the site, next to the top of A Ramp.A CT hides here from Ts on the ramp. Ts check it before they plant.
A ShortThe top of Catwalk, where it enters A site. Players also call it Short. The T entry to A from mid. Ts use it to hit A from two sides with Long.
CT SpawnThe CT start between A site and mid.CTs reach A in seconds. B is further, through CT Mid and B Doors.

In July 2024 Valve changed the crate stack outside CT Spawn toward A, which moved some cover on the CT side of the site.

Call the entrance first. “Ramp” and “Short” are on opposite sides of A, and the CT on site has to turn to face one of them.

Mid, Xbox and Catwalk: the center of Dust II

Dust 2 callouts: mid area

Mid on Dust II is a long straight lane. Ts enter it at Top Mid after they come down Suicide, and CTs watch it from Mid Doors at the far end. From mid, Ts can climb onto Catwalk next to Xbox and go to A, or take Lower Tunnels toward B. Ts often throw a smoke at Xbox at the start of the round so the CT AWP at Mid Doors cannot see the cross.

CalloutWhere it isWho uses it and why
Top MidThe open area at the T end of mid, below Suicide.Ts cross here. A CT AWP at Mid Doors can see the cross.
SuicideThe narrow slope from T Spawn down to Top Mid.A fast T route to mid. It is exposed to the AWP at Mid Doors.
MidThe lane between Top Mid and Mid Doors. The fight for map control. It links Catwalk and Lower Tunnels.
XboxThe box at the bottom of Catwalk, against the wall.Ts jump on it to reach Catwalk and smoke it to cross mid.
CatwalkThe raised path from mid up to A Short. Players also say Cat or Short. The T route from mid to A. CTs hold it from Short and A site.
Mid DoorsThe double doors at the CT end of mid.A CT AWP watches mid from behind them. Ts who pass them reach CT Mid.
CT MidThe area behind Mid Doors, between CT Spawn and B Doors. The CT rotation between A and B. Ts here cut that rotation.

Xbox changed twice in 2026. On April 28 Valve uncovered it to reveal a hidden jump spot, and on April 29 it blocked visibility through one corner of the box. In April 2024 Valve also fixed a spot above Mid Doors where grenades fell through the world.

Outside Tunnels, Upper Tunnels and Lower Tunnels

Dust 2 callouts: b tunnels area

The Tunnels are the T way to B and the link between B and mid. Ts gather at Outside Tunnels, walk through Upper Tunnels and come out on B site. Tunnel Stairs connect Upper Tunnels with Lower Tunnels, and Lower Tunnels end in mid, close to Mid Doors. This means a T in mid can join a B hit through the Tunnels without going back to spawn.

CalloutWhere it isWho uses it and why
Outside TunnelsThe open area at the bottom left, between T Ramp and Upper Tunnels.Ts gather here before a B hit. CTs throw grenades here to slow them.
Upper TunnelsThe tunnel that leads from Outside Tunnels to B site. The main T entry to B. CTs sometimes go into it early for information.
Tunnel StairsThe stairs between Upper Tunnels and Lower Tunnels.Ts move between mid and B here. Footsteps here give a rotation away.
Lower TunnelsThe lower tunnel that ends in mid, near Mid Doors.Ts use it to reach mid and to rotate to B. CTs watch its exit from Mid Doors.

Say “Upper” or “Lower” every time. A T in Upper Tunnels is about to hit B, while a T in Lower Tunnels can still go to mid or to B. Valve fixed a pixel gap and adjusted clipping Outside Tunnel on July 8, 2026.

B site: B Car, Back Plat, Window and B Doors

Dust 2 callouts: b site area

B site is in the top left corner. Ts enter from Upper Tunnels, and CTs come in through B Doors or look onto the site from Window. The site has a lot of cover, so after a plant Ts can hold it from Back Plat and B Car while CTs retake through the doors.

CalloutWhere it isWho uses it and why
B SiteThe bombsite in the top left corner.Ts plant here. CTs retake through B Doors and Window.
B CarThe car on the site, near the Tunnels exit.Cover for Ts who leave the Tunnels. CTs check it on the retake.
Back PlatThe raised platform at the back of the site, in the far corner.A CT position over the site and a post-plant spot for Ts.
WindowThe raised opening in the wall between the site and the B Doors room.CTs look onto the site from it. Ts smoke or flash it on entry.
B DoorsThe double doors between the site and the CT path from CT Mid.The CT entry for a retake. Ts smoke the doors after the plant.

Valve fixed a hole in a brick stack on B site in July 2024 and adjusted clipping at B site in October 2024. When you call Ts on B, name the part of the site: “one Car” and “one Back Plat” ask for different angles.

How to learn Dust 2 callouts quickly

Most Dust II names are short and easy to remember. The ones that confuse new players are the pairs: Upper and Lower Tunnels, Mid Doors and B Doors, Long and Short. Our routine for a new map:

  • Start a private match on Dust II with no bots and walk the map in the order of this guide: T Spawn, Long, A site, mid, the Tunnels and B site. Read the place name under your radar as you walk.
  • Set up a practice server with our CS2 practice config, so you can throw smokes at Xbox and Long Doors as many times as you need.
  • Open the official map guide for Dust II from the pause menu. Valve added starter guides for all Active Duty maps in March 2026.
  • Walk from Top Mid to B twice, once through Lower Tunnels and Tunnel Stairs and once back through T Spawn and Upper Tunnels, so you know how long each route takes.
  • Agree with your team on the second names. Some players say Cat for Catwalk or Long for Long A, and that is fine if everyone means the same spot.

Dust II is in Active Duty, so you will see it in Premier as of November 2026. To see the other six maps in the pool, read our guide to the Active Duty map pool. Our guides to Anubis callouts and Mirage callouts use the same format.

Bottom line

Learn Dust II by its three T routes: Long Doors to A, Catwalk from mid and Upper Tunnels to B.

If you play CT side, learn Pit, A Car and Goose for A, Mid Doors and CT Mid for mid, and Window, Back Plat and B Doors for B, because you will hold or retake from those in many rounds. If you play T side, learn the routes: Outside Long and Long Doors to A, Suicide and Xbox to Catwalk, and Outside Tunnels to Upper Tunnels for B.

The names that cause mistakes are the pairs. Upper and Lower Tunnels lead to different places, and Mid Doors and B Doors are on different sides of CT Mid. Agree on these names with your team before the match.

FAQ

Is Dust 2 in the CS2 Active Duty map pool in 2026?

Yes. Dust II returned to Active Duty on April 25, 2024, when it replaced Overpass. Since July 8, 2026 the pool is Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke, and it has not changed as of November 5, 2026. You can play Dust II in Premier and in Competitive.

What are the main callouts on Dust 2?

The ones you hear in almost every round are Long Doors, Pit, Long A, A Short, Catwalk, Xbox, Mid Doors, Upper Tunnels, Lower Tunnels, B Doors and Window. Long Doors and Upper Tunnels are the T routes to A and B, Catwalk links mid with A, and Mid Doors is where the CT AWP watches mid.

Where is Xbox on Dust 2?

Xbox is the box at the bottom of Catwalk in mid, against the wall. Ts jump on it to climb onto Catwalk and throw a smoke at it to cross mid. In April 2026 Valve uncovered the box to reveal a hidden jump spot and then blocked visibility through one of its corners.

What is the difference between Upper Tunnels and Lower Tunnels on Dust 2?

Upper Tunnels lead from Outside Tunnels to B site, and Lower Tunnels end in mid near Mid Doors. Tunnel Stairs connect the two. A T in Upper Tunnels is about to hit B, while a T in Lower Tunnels can still go to mid or B.

What changed on Dust 2 in CS2 in 2026?

Only small fixes. Valve closed a pixel gap in a door Outside Long on March 11, uncovered Xbox to reveal a hidden jump spot on April 28 and blocked visibility through a corner of Xbox on April 29. On July 8 it fixed a pixel gap and adjusted clipping Outside Tunnel.
