A CS2 collection is the fixed set of skins that a case, terminal, souvenir package or weekly drop can give you. This guide covers the 93 weapon skin collections on our WIKI, 1,451 skins in total, from the Arms Deal sets of August 2013 to Arabesque and Spy Tech in July 2026: five eras to read, one timeline to scroll and one list of all 93 to filter, with release dates, skin counts, rarity ranges and containers, and prices checked on November 2, 2026. You can also browse all CS2 collections on the WIKI, where every skin has a price for each wear.
The collection matters more than most players expect. It decides which skins a trade up contract can return, which skins a Souvenir package can hold and which skins are still in a weekly drop. If you are choosing what to open, buy or trade, start with the collection and pick the skin second. Our trade up contracts guide shows how the rules work in practice.
Every collection since 2013, on one timeline
Scroll sideways. Each badge is one collection with its release month, the number of skins and how the skins reach players: a case, a Souvenir package, a terminal or a plain drop. Click a badge to open the collection in the list below.
Souvenir sets lead 2013 with 9 of 21, cases take over from 2015, and from 2025 most new sets have no container at all because they go straight into the weekly drop.
What a Collection Is, and How It Differs From a Case
A collection is a list of skins that belong together. A case, a terminal or a souvenir package is a container that gives you one of them. They are different things: the Fever Collection is the set of 17 skins, and the Fever Case is the container that gives you one of them. The container tells you how to get a skin, and the collection tells you which skins exist in the set.
- Case: you open it with a key and get one skin from its collection. Cases can also drop a rare special item, a knife or a pair of gloves, and those items do not belong to any collection.
- Terminal: a sealed container tied to one collection. The Sealed Genesis Terminal (September 16, 2025) and the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal (March 11, 2026) are the two on our WIKI.
- Souvenir package: the map collections have Souvenir versions of their skins, and those come from Souvenir packages released at Majors.
- Weekly drop: the Ascent, Boreal and Radiant Collections joined the weekly drop pool on March 31, 2025.
2013 to 2014 · 31 collections · 388 skins · 18 without Covert
2013 to 2014: The Arms Deal years
Everything starts on August 14, 2013. The Arms Deal update ships ten collections in one day, together with the first weapon case, and by the end of the year there are 21. Ten of the 21 are small map sets with 6 to 11 skins, 15 of the 21 stop below Covert, and only six reach the top tier: Arms Deal, Bravo, eSports 2013, Arms Deal 2, Winter Offensive and eSports 2013 Winter.
2014 is where the famous names come from. The Cobblestone Collection brings AWP | Dragon Lore, the Huntsman Collection has AK-47 | Vulcan, the Phoenix Collection has AWP | Asiimov. Ten collections, 151 skins, and the pattern that lasts a decade: one case per operation, one collection per case.
2015 to 2017 · 18 collections · 289 skins · 2 without Covert
2015 to 2017: One case, one collection
From the Chroma Case on January 8, 2015 almost every release is a case with its own collection. The 18 sets of these three years hold 13 to 17 skins each and 16 of them have a Covert tier. Fewer map sets, more cases, and the cases get the covers of the game.
The Falchion Collection brings AWP | Hyper Beast, Gods and Monsters brings AWP | Medusa, Rising Sun has AUG | Akihabara Accept. The Spectrum Collection closes 2017 with AK-47 | Bloodsport. If you own a skin from this era, it almost certainly came out of a case.
2018 to 2020 · 18 collections · 285 skins · 4 without Covert
2018 to 2020: Operations and record prices
Eighteen collections in three years, and 14 of them reach Covert. Two are single-skin sets, Blacksite and X-Ray. Four collections land on one day, November 19, 2019 (Canals, Norse, Shattered Web and St. Marc), and four more on December 3, 2020 (Ancient, Control, Havoc and Operation Broken Fang).
This era holds two of the three priciest skins on the WIKI, next to Dragon Lore: AWP | Gungnir from the Norse Collection and AK-47 | Wild Lotus from St. Marc. Both came from operation drops, which is why they cost more than most case Coverts. AK-47 | Asiimov from the Danger Zone Collection is the affordable one.
2021 to 2023 · 10 collections · 182 skins · 0 without Covert
2021 to 2023: The quiet stretch
Ten collections in three years. Five of them arrive on September 22, 2021 with Operation Riptide: the Riptide Collection and the 2021 versions of Dust 2, Mirage, Train and Vertigo. Every collection of this era has a Covert skin, the only era where that is true.
The Recoil Collection follows in July 2022 with AWP | Chromatic Aberration, the Revolution Collection in February 2023 with M4A4 | Temukau, and the Anubis map collection in April 2023 with M4A4 | Eye of Horus. CS2 replaces CS:GO in September 2023 with no new collection of its own.
2024 to 2026 · 16 collections · 307 skins · 5 without Covert
2024 to 2026: CS2 picks up the pace
Sixteen collections in under three years. Four on October 2, 2024 (Gallery, Graphic Design, Overpass 2024 and Sport & Field), five on March 31, 2025, the Genesis Collection in September 2025, Achroma and Harlequin on January 21, 2026, Dead Hand in March 2026 and Arabesque and Spy Tech on July 8, 2026.
Three of the 2025 collections, Ascent, Boreal and Radiant, are the biggest on the WIKI with 28 or 29 skins each, and none of them has a Covert skin. They are weekly drop sets, not case sets. The newest Covert skins are AK-47 | AUTOEXEC and Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol from Spy Tech.

Why the Collection Matters for Trade Ups
A trade up contract takes 10 skins of one rarity and returns one skin of the next rarity up, always from a collection of one of the skins you put in. Valve has widened the contract since 2025: five Covert skins can now return a knife or a pair of gloves, and Souvenir skins can go in together with normal ones. The exact rules and dates are in our trade up contracts guide.
- The rarity range shows the top tier of each collection, which is the highest result its skins can lead to.
- A collection with more skins in a tier gives each of them a smaller share of the result, so small tiers are more predictable.
- Mixing collections lets you aim at the outcome you want, because only the collections you put in can supply it.
Before you plan a contract, check what your own skins are worth with the CS2 Inventory Value Checker.
How to Get the Skins of a Collection
There are four ways to get a skin from a collection, and only one of them lets you choose the skin.
- Open the case. You pay for the key and get a random skin of its collection. The rare special item of a case is a knife or gloves. Terminals are tied to one collection as well.
- Wait for a weekly drop. It applies to the collections in the weekly drop pool, and you cannot pick the skin.
- Use a trade up contract. You choose the inputs, which narrows the outputs to the collections you put in.
- Pick the exact skin. Trade for it or buy it on SkinsMonkey, where every skin on this page has a price for each wear.
Start from the CS2 collections page on the WIKI, open the collection you like and compare the wears. SkinsMonkey lets you trade the skins you already own toward any of them.
Bottom line
Pick the collection by its top rarity tier and container, then compare the wear prices on its WIKI page.
If you want a chance at a Covert skin, check the Rarity column first, because 29 of the 93 collections stop below Covert. A case gives you a random skin, while the weekly drop pool is free but gives you no choice.
To own a specific skin, skip the lottery and compare its wears on the WIKI. A trade up contract is the middle way, since the collections you put in decide what can come out.
FAQ
How many CS2 collections are there?
On November 2, 2026 our WIKI listed 93 weapon skin collections, from the Arms Deal sets of August 2013 to Arabesque and Spy Tech of July 2026, with 1,451 skins in total. Sticker, charm and graffiti collections are separate and not counted here.
What is the difference between a CS2 collection and a case?
A collection is the list of skins that belong together. A case is the container that gives you one of them after you open it with a key. A case can also drop a knife or gloves, and those items do not belong to any collection.
Which CS2 collection has the most skins?
The Boreal Collection, with 29 skins, followed by the Ascent and Radiant Collections with 28 each. All three were added on March 31, 2025, and none of them has a Covert skin.
Which are the newest CS2 collections?
Arabesque and Spy Tech, both added on July 8, 2026. Achroma and Harlequin came on January 21, 2026 and the Dead Hand Collection on March 11, 2026.
Where can I see the skins and prices of one collection?
Every collection in the tables links to its SkinsMonkey WIKI page, which lists each skin with a price for every wear. The full list of collections is on the CS2 collections page of the WIKI.
