TL;DR
The best Talon Knife skin depends on your budget. Our picks for looks are the Damascus Steel under $450, the Marble Fade from $450 to $800, the Fade from $800 to $1,500 and the Doppler Ruby above $1,500. We judged each finish by how it looks on the curved blade during the Talon's spin inspect, using SkinsMonkey prices from October 23, 2026.
On this page
The Talon Knife is the cheapest way to get a karambit-style knife with a proper spin inspect in CS2, and that is why it has a following of its own. We went through all Talon Knife skins on our WIKI and picked the ones that look best on its long, curved blade in four budgets, from a camo copy under $300 to the Doppler gems. For each one we say which wear to buy and what to skip.
This list is about looks. Prices across every knife type are ranked in our most expensive CS2 knife skins and cheapest CS2 knives posts, and our best CS2 knives list compares the Talon with the other 19 knife types. Every Talon below can be traded for with your current skins on SkinsMonkey.
How We Picked These Talon Knife Skins
Our picks for looks within each budget, prices from SkinsMonkey on October 23, 2026. A skin sits in the bracket of its From price, the cheapest wear we list. The brackets are under $450, $450 to $800, $800 to $1,500 and above $1,500. Inside each one we judged how the finish reads on the Talon in first person and during the inspect, used popularity as the tiebreaker, and named one top pick.
The tables show the wear we would buy and what it cost on October 23, next to live From and Up to prices for every wear. On the Talon the gap between wears can be extreme. A Field-Tested Talon Knife | Forest DDPAT cost $285.29 and a Factory New one $4,561.37, for the same green camo. Float and pattern move the price further within one wear. All prices on this page are for non-StatTrak copies.
Our video below starts with the vanilla Talon running through its normal and rare animations, then shows every finish and every Doppler phase in game with its price range. It is a straight in-game showcase with no commentary on the skins, so you can judge the colors yourself.

Under $450: Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet and the Cheapest Talons
The camo Talons from the Horizon and Danger Zone cases start here, along with Stained, Crimson Web and three Chroma finishes from the Prisma cases. On the camo finishes, Battle-Scarred, Well-Worn and Field-Tested sit within about ten dollars of each other, so the worst wear is rarely a saving.
Talon Knife | Damascus Steel
- Wear we would buy
- Minimal Wear
- Price on Oct 23
- $442.38
- From today
- $398.73
Our top pick under $450. Grey layered steel with a wavy etched grain that follows the curve of the blade, so the Talon looks like a real forged karambit. Wear barely shows on this finish: Battle-Scarred started at $398.30, Field-Tested at $410.51 and Minimal Wear at $442.38, and all three look close. Factory New was $516.60. Drops from the Prisma and Prisma 2 cases.
Five more picks in this bracket:
- Talon Knife | Ultraviolet: a deep purple finish that turns almost black in shadow. In lower wears the purple scuffs toward bare metal. Field-Tested cost $371.31, only 38 cents more than Well-Worn; Factory New was $1,482.22.
- Talon Knife | Night Stripe: dark grey and black stripes. The most discreet Talon and an easy fit for a dark loadout. Field-Tested, $329.46.
- Talon Knife | Stained: a blotchy blue, brown and grey patina over the steel, a little different on every copy. Field-Tested, $416.74.
- Talon Knife | Crimson Web: red web lines on black. Field-Tested at $465.88 keeps the red sharp; Battle-Scarred was $431.83. The number and position of the webs differ between copies, so look at the blade before you trade.
- Talon Knife | Safari Mesh: tan and olive mesh, and the cheapest Talon on our WIKI. Battle-Scarred started at $274.07 and Field-Tested at $274.64, so there is no reason to take the worse one.

$450 to $800: Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and the Pattern Finishes
This bracket holds the finishes most people picture on a Talon. Three finishes here only come in Factory New and Minimal Wear, and two of them have patterns that change the look from copy to copy.
Talon Knife | Marble Fade
- Wear we would buy
- Factory New
- Price on Oct 23
- $743.15
- From today
- $721.83
Our top pick from $450 to $800. The red, blue and yellow swirl wraps around the curved blade, and the spin inspect rolls it past the screen. Factory New cost only $21.35 more than Minimal Wear on October 23. Copies with only red and blue, which players call Fire and Ice, cost more. Drops from the Prisma and Prisma 2 cases.
Four more picks in this bracket:
- Talon Knife | Tiger Tooth: gold and orange stripes that look the same on every copy, so there is no pattern to hunt. Minimal Wear and Factory New were 63 cents apart; take Factory New at $620.61.
- Talon Knife | Slaughter: red with darker swirls. Only Field-Tested, Minimal Wear and Factory New exist. Minimal Wear at $733.69 keeps the red clean; Field-Tested was $666.26. Players look for shapes in the pattern, such as hearts and diamonds.
- Talon Knife | Case Hardened: blue and gold heat staining that is different on every copy. Field-Tested cost $590.78. Mostly blue copies, the so-called blue gems, sell far above that, the same story as on the Karambit blue gem.
- Talon Knife | Blue Steel: blued metal in steel grey and dark blue. A quiet finish for a player who wants the spin without the color. Field-Tested, $525.94.

$800 to $1,500: Fade and the Four Regular Doppler Phases
Past $800 the Talon gets its gradient finishes. The Fade and all four regular Doppler phases only exist in Factory New and Minimal Wear, and the two wears cost within $40 of each other, so we would buy Factory New on every one of them.
Talon Knife | Fade
- Wear we would buy
- Factory New
- Price on Oct 23
- $1,044.48
- From today
- $1,044.71
Our top pick from $800 to $1,500. Purple at the tip, pink in the middle and yellow toward the handle, spread over the full length of the Talon’s blade. Factory New cost $1,044.48 and Minimal Wear $1,043.45 on October 23. The more purple and pink a copy shows, the higher its fade percentage and its price. Drops from the Horizon and Danger Zone cases.
Doppler is a metallic marble finish, and each phase has its own color set and its own WIKI page. On October 23 the cheapest was Phase 3 at $1,076.73 in Minimal Wear and the priciest regular phase was Phase 2 at $1,317.85. Our pick is Phase 2, the pink and purple one, because the pink shows on both faces of the blade during the spin. Phase 4 is the blue-heavy alternative, and Phase 1 has the most black in it. Players also pay extra for Phase 2 copies with more pink and Phase 4 copies with more blue.

Above $1,500: Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl
Above $1,500 there are only the three Doppler gems: solid red Ruby, solid blue Sapphire and the dark Black Pearl. On October 23 they started between $2,264.64 and $4,088.10 on SkinsMonkey. The Ruby and Black Pearl on the Karambit and Butterfly Knife cost more than twice as much, and our most expensive knife skins post covers them.
Talon Knife | Doppler Ruby
- Wear we would buy
- Factory New
- Price on Oct 23
- $3,869.21
- From today
- $3,863.47
Our top pick above $1,500. One solid red over the whole blade, and it looks nearly the same on every copy, so you do not pay extra for a particular pattern. Factory New cost $3,869.21 and Minimal Wear $3,865.34 on October 23. Drops from the Prisma and Prisma 2 cases, like every Doppler phase.
Two more picks in this bracket:
- Talon Knife | Doppler Sapphire: solid deep blue. On October 23 it started at $2,264.64 in Minimal Wear, the cheapest of the three gems on the Talon when we checked, so compare the live price with the Ruby before you trade.
- Talon Knife | Doppler Black Pearl: near-black with a purple and blue sheen. Minimal Wear started at $4,088.10 and Factory New at $4,889.97, the widest wear gap of any Doppler phase on the Talon.

The Spin: Why Players Buy the Talon for Its Inspect
Valve describes the Talon as an ivory-handled karambit with brass rivets and saw-tooth ridges, and it is built like one. The inspect spins the whole knife around your finger, the move people mean when they talk about the Talon, and there is a rare animation on top of the normal ones. The blade is longer than a Karambit’s, so to us the spin looks slower and heavier, and it puts both faces of the blade in front of you.
That spin is why the finish matters more here than on a straight knife. A swirl like the Marble Fade or a Doppler Phase 2 shows a different side of its pattern every time it comes around. Plain finishes look the same at every angle. Our CS2 knife commands post shows how to spawn a vanilla Talon in a practice match and try the spin yourself, and the guide on how to inspect CS2 skins shows how to check the float and pattern of a specific copy.
The Talon is also the budget alternative to the knife it copies. On October 23 the same finishes cost roughly half on the Talon: a Factory New Marble Fade was $743.15 on the Talon and $1,415.77 on the Karambit. Our best Karambit skins list is the place to start if you want the original.
| Item | Factory New on Oct 23: Talon vs Karambit | Price | |

Which Finishes Suit the Talon’s Curved Blade
Finishes that follow the curve look best. The Talon’s blade bends down along its whole length, and gradient and swirl finishes, the Fade, Marble Fade and Doppler, run with that curve. The Damascus Steel grain does the same in grey. These are our top picks for that reason.
Quiet finishes put the shape first. The saw-tooth ridges and the hooked tip are what make a Talon recognizable, and finishes like Blue Steel and Night Stripe leave them readable. The vanilla Talon has no finish at all and has no wear either; our vanilla knives ranking explains why plain knives have a following. We found no vanilla Talon listed on SkinsMonkey on October 23, so check the live price.
Camo finishes read flat. Boreal Forest, Urban Masked and Scorched are the entry tickets to the Talon and its spin, but their muted patterns lose their shape on a narrow curved blade. If your budget stops below $350, the Night Stripe or a Field-Tested Safari Mesh is the cleaner look for about the same money.
The same finishes exist on the other Horizon knives. The Talon came out together with the Navaja, Stiletto and Ursus, and they share most of these finishes. Our best Stiletto Knife skins post shows how the same finishes look on a thin, straight switchblade.

What Wear to Buy on a Talon Knife
On camo and plain finishes, buy Field-Tested. A Field-Tested Safari Mesh cost 57 cents more than Battle-Scarred on October 23, and on Boreal Forest, Forest DDPAT and Scorched the gap was under $9. Factory New is a different market: Forest DDPAT jumps from $285.29 in Field-Tested to $4,561.37 in Factory New, and Crimson Web from $465.88 to $4,108.21, because clean copies of those two are scarce.
On Fade, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and Doppler, buy Factory New. These finishes only come in Factory New and Minimal Wear and the price gap is cents to tens of dollars, so the cleaner copy costs almost nothing extra.
Rust Coat is the exception. Talon Knife | Rust Coat only exists in Battle-Scarred and Well-Worn, since the finish is meant to look corroded. Battle-Scarred cost $331.24 and Well-Worn $351.37. For the Ultraviolet and Damascus Steel, Field-Tested or Minimal Wear is the sweet spot. The float ranges behind each wear are in our CS2 wear levels guide.

How to Get One: Horizon, Danger Zone, Prisma Cases or a Trade
Four cases hold the Talon. The Horizon Case of August 2018 and the Danger Zone Case of December 2018 have it in the original finishes, from Safari Mesh to Fade. The Prisma Case of March 2019 and the Prisma 2 Case of March 2020 have the Chroma finishes: Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet and Rust Coat. Each of them shares the knife slot with the Navaja, Stiletto and Ursus in many finishes, and the knife slot opens in well under one case in a hundred. Our list of the best CS2 cases to open shows what each case holds.
Since the October 22, 2025 update, five Covert skins can also be traded up into a knife or gloves from the collection of one of the inputs. Covert skins from the Prisma cases can give a Doppler or Marble Fade Talon, but just as well a Navaja, Stiletto or Ursus. Our CS2 trade-up guide explains the rules.
If you want one specific Talon in one specific wear, trading is the direct route. Check what your skins are worth with our free CS2 Inventory Value Checker, then trade them toward the Talon on SkinsMonkey, where trades with our bots go through instantly.
Our top pick in each budget
Bottom line
Buy the Talon for the spin, then pick a finish that moves with it: Marble Fade if you can reach $750.
Under $450, a Damascus Steel in Minimal Wear or Field-Tested is the Talon that looks like more than its price, and the camo copies make sense only as the cheapest way into the spin. Take Field-Tested on those, since Battle-Scarred saves you a few dollars at most.
From $600 to $750 the Tiger Tooth and the Marble Fade are both Factory New for almost the Minimal Wear price, and the Marble Fade shows more as the knife turns. Past $1,000 the Fade and Doppler Phase 2 are the next steps, and the same finishes would cost roughly twice as much on a Karambit.
FAQ
What is the best Talon Knife skin in CS2?
It depends on your budget. Our picks for looks are the Talon Knife | Damascus Steel under $450, the Marble Fade from $450 to $800, the Fade from $800 to $1,500 and the Doppler Ruby above $1,500, using SkinsMonkey prices from October 23, 2026. The Marble Fade is the one we would buy first, because its swirl wraps around the curved blade during the spin.
What is the cheapest Talon Knife in CS2?
The Talon Knife | Safari Mesh. On October 23, 2026 a Battle-Scarred copy started at $274.07 on SkinsMonkey and a Field-Tested one at $274.64, so take Field-Tested. Boreal Forest and Forest DDPAT started within $5 of it.
What case is the Talon Knife in?
Four cases drop it. The Horizon Case and the Danger Zone Case have the Talon in the original finishes such as Safari Mesh, Case Hardened, Slaughter and Fade. The Prisma Case and the Prisma 2 Case have the Chroma finishes: Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet and Rust Coat.
Is the Talon Knife cheaper than a Karambit?
Yes, by roughly half in the same finish. On October 23, 2026 a Factory New Marble Fade cost $743.15 on the Talon and $1,415.77 on the Karambit. Both are karambit-style knives whose inspect spins the knife around your finger, which is why the Talon is the usual budget alternative.
Which wear should I buy on a Talon Knife?
Field-Tested on camo and plain finishes, Factory New on Fade, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and Doppler. Battle-Scarred to Field-Tested camo Talons cost within a few dollars of each other, while Fade and Doppler come only in Factory New and Minimal Wear at almost the same price.
