The SSG 08 is a sniper rifle skins available Counter Strike 2 and Global Offensive. It is a replacement for the Schmidt Scout from the previous installments of the game. The inspiration for the weapon was the Steyr SSG 08, an Austrian bolt-action sniper rifle manufactured by firearms manufacturer Steyr Mannlicher. In the game, the SSG 08 is used by both Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist teams.

The SSG 08 in Combat

The SSG 08 is described as “a smart choice for early-round long-range marksmanship” and “a cost-effective sniper rifle”. It is notorious for its near-perfect accuracy and a large reserve of 90 rounds. The weapon also provides a high-power lens scope which is typical of firearms in this category. It is worth noting that with the SSG 08 (unlike with other sniper rifles), the player does not suffer a loss of movement speed when scoped in. Unfortunately, such guns are only suitable for use at maximum stabilization and when looking through the scope, otherwise they lose their accuracy. On top of that, sniper rifles usually offer a low fire rate (48 RPM in this case). However, this does not change the fact that under the right conditions (especially during eco rounds) they are a great choice.

Cosmetic Skins

There are numerous cosmetic SSG 08 skins available on the Steam market, as it is one of the most popular CS2(CS:GO) sniper rifles. Most of the options are very affordable, but there are also a few expensive ones that are perfect for gamers with more money to spend. The least budget-friendly skin is the Sea Calico from the St. Marc collection. Its Factory New version costs almost $300. However, the cheapest option is the Dashed. Its price usually fluctuates around $1.
