CSGO Anubis Collection: All You Need to Know

Every time a new element is introduced to Counter-Strike, the whole community gets excited. This year has actually been filled with CS-related announcements. Considering the fact that in March Valve released the news of the game’s porting to Source 2, one could even argue that there has been enough hot news for now. What’s more, a new collection (The Revolution Collection) was introduced to the game in February, which included 17 new weapon skins. And while players have been somewhat spoiled by the Counter-Strike developer, that hasn’t stopped the company from launching yet another set of items, namely the Anubis collection. Read this article to find out what pieces are included in this exciting new release.

But let’s start with some basics.

What Is the Anubis Collection?

Anubis is the latest CS skin collection, which was introduced to the game on April 25, 2023. The set contains 19 new cosmetic items, all of which refer to ancient Egypt, either by name or appearance (or both). It complements the Bomb Defusal map of the same name.

What Is the Anubis Map?

Anubis is one of the newer maps added to the CS:GO world, as it first appeared in the game in 2020. What makes it particularly interesting is the fact that it was actually created by the community. Its authors (apart from Valve Corporation, of course) are players Roald van der Scheur, jakuza, and jd40.

The theme is Egypt, and the map belongs to the Bomb Defusal type. At first, it was only available in Scrimmage and Casual modes, which basically served only as an exercise for actual ranked matches. However, it transitioned to Competitive pretty quickly. Interestingly, Anubis disappeared from the game in 2021, but in 2022, to celebrate CS:GO’s 10th birthday, Valve decided to bring it back. What’s more, in November 2022 it was added to the Active Duty Map pool, a rare achievement for a community-created map (Cache is another well-known example).

What Skins Are Included in the Anubis Collection?

As we already mentioned, the Anubis collection includes 19 skins, which is really quite a lot. You can find each of them down below, but in order for this article not to take up 5 pages of text, we will limit the information about them to just the basics. Let’s start with the most budget-friendly option.

1. AUG | Snake Pit

This is the cheapest, but definitely not the least spectacular skin included in the collection. If you are a fan of reptiles, we can guarantee that the predatory snake wrapped around this AUG will be to your liking.

1. R8 Revolver | Inlay

The R8 revolver always impresses with its classic look, and in this version, it will make any player feel like they’re in a good western movie. It doesn’t necessarily fit the collection’s theme, but it’s certainly a great weapon skin.

1. XM1014 | Hieroglyph

Unlike the previous entry, this skin completely fits into the collection’s theme which is Egypt. The XM1014 may not be the weapon of choice for many players, but the Hieroglyph skin is worth a try.

1. MP7 | Sunbaked

Although the hefty price of the MP7 may not be very appealing, fortunately, the Sunbaked skin is one of the cheapest in the entire collection. Its design resembles “grooves on a topographical map” and would make a great addition to any inventory.

1. M249 | Submerged

The M249 is a difficult weapon to master and not many CS:GO players opt for it. The Submerged skin, however, is a really interesting piece that was inspired by the desert environment and dunes.

1. MAC-10 | Echoing Sands

This is yet another skin on our list that is inspired by desert terrain. This time, however, MAC-10 combines dark colors with gold accents, which makes it really stand out on the Counter-Strike maps.

1. USP-S | Desert Tactical

The AK-47 is a weapon that needs no introduction. It is the most popular assault rifle both in the game and in the real world. 1. M4A4 | Eye of Horus

Virtually every collection contains an obnoxiously expensive skin, and in the case of Anubis, it is the Eye of Horus. At the time of writing, Factory New copies of this beautiful item even went for more than $2,000. Nevertheless, we must admit that its design is truly one-of-a-kind, and any player who appears with it in the arena will be an automatic winner.
