Desert Eagle Heat Treated: Blue Gem

Case Hardened skins are something of a legend within the CS community, with some of the legendary choices such as the AK-47 Case Hardened or the epic Karambit Blue Gem worth a literal fortune. CS players and collectors dream about owning one of these rare pieces, and it shouldn’t be a surprise, considering how expensive these skins are, especially in the Factory New CS2 weapon wear.

The latest big update to CS2 introduced a number of brand new additions to the game, such as the Armory Pass, charms, the new gallery case, and many others, however, one of the most surprising announcements was that a new Case Hardened-style Blue Gem skin would be added to the game – the Desert Eagle Heat Treated!

What is the Desert Eagle Heat Treated Skin?

The Desert Eagle Heat Treated skin is a Limited Edition item introduced in the October 2 Armory Pass update for Counter-Strike 2. While the price adjustments are still in process as the skin was released fairly recently, with its awesome visuals that add the legendary Case Hardened flair to your weapon it immediately became one of the best Desert Eagle skins in the game.

Like Case Hardened skins, the Desert Eagle Heat Treated features a wide range of patterns, including the highly sought-after Blue Gem patterns. Each Desert Eagle Heat Treated looks different depending on its pattern index, while its CS2 float value decides how worn it looks.

What Makes Blue Gem Skins So Expensive?

Blue Gem skins are highly coveted due to their unique coloration, featuring mostly blue on the skin’s surface, with specific patterns creating varying degrees of color distribution. Some of the most expensive CS2 knives feature the blue gem finish and can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

In CS2, Blue Gem skins represent some of the rarest and most expensive CS2 skins, often commanding prices far beyond regular Heat Treated skins due to their unique aesthetic and collectible status.

Obtaining the Desert Eagle Heat Treated

To obtain the Desert Eagle Heat Treated skin, players must purchase the Armory Pass, which is the key to exclusive skins, CS2 charms, and other rewards. The Armory Pass is required to access the Desert Eagle Heat Treated skin outside CS2 skin trading. Once the pass is activated, players earn stars (Armory credits) by gaining XP in matches, and 25 stars unlock the skin and add it straight to their inventory.

Rarity of the Desert Eagle Blue Gem in CS2

The Desert Eagle Heat Treated arrived together with the Gallery Case, but it isn’t part of that case: it’s a separate Limited Edition item from the Armory, and obtaining a true Blue Gem Desert Eagle is incredibly rare. Even within the Heat Treated family, only a fraction of patterns produce a satisfactory Blue Gem appearance, making these skins difficult to find and, consequently, highly valuable. With limited availability and high demand from collectors, prices for these skins can soar, with some Blue Gem variants fetching thousands of dollars on the secondary market.

Trading and Collecting

Every newly redeemed Desert Eagle Heat Treated is temporarily trade-locked, but the lock is removed after seven days, allowing you to trade the skin to and from other players. As usual, factors that will influence the price include the rarity of the pattern, the condition of the skin, as well as the market demand, which remains an enigma at this moment.

Players will be able to collect and trade the skin, with the most valuable patterns being those with high concentrations of blue, such as the Blue Gem patterns. The skin’s wear (float value) will also impact its market value. As with any rare skin, it’s essential to keep an eye on the market and be prepared to act quickly to acquire the desired pattern or condition.
