TL;DR
The cheapest CS2 skins sit on a price floor of $0.10, and 256 finishes were listed at exactly that on SkinsMonkey on 22 October 2026, with 615 under a dollar. Almost every gun reaches the floor: AK-47 | Safari Mesh costs $0.10 in Field-Tested, and only the AWP stops higher, at $0.16 for a Battle-Scarred AWP | Safari Mesh. Knives and gloves are a different market, starting at $49.94 and $38.88.
On this page
A ranking of the cheapest skins in CS2 runs into a wall immediately: the price floor is ten cents, and 256 different finishes sit on it exactly. Sorting those by price gives you a 256-way tie decided by rounding, which tells you nothing about what to buy.
So this list answers the question people are actually asking. For the guns people actually play, what is the cheapest way to put a skin on one, and where does the floor stop being the answer. We priced 2,156 finishes in our wiki on 22 October 2026, using the standard version of each skin, and took the cheapest wear available for each one.
Prices below are for the wear named in the row, which at this end of the market is usually Battle-Scarred or Well-Worn. The same finish in Factory New can cost twenty times more, and that gap is the entire reason a ten-cent AK-47 exists. Every number comes from the catalogue you browse when you trade skins on SkinsMonkey.
The Floor Is Ten Cents, and 615 Skins Live Under a Dollar
| Entry price | Finishes available |
|---|---|
| Exactly $0.10 | 256 |
| Up to $0.50 | 496 |
| Up to $1.00 | 615 |
| Up to $5.00 | 906 |
| Up to $10.00 | 1,023 |
| Up to $20.00 | 1,137 |
Nearly half the skins in CS2 have a version under ten dollars. If you want the picks from inside each band rather than the raw count, we keep separate lists for skins under $1, under $5, under $10 and under $20. This page covers the floor itself and where it sits per weapon.

Some of these are better than their price suggests. P250 | Boreal Forest and Galil AR | Sage Spray are in Minimal Wear at the floor price, so you get a clean-looking skin for ten cents because nobody competes for them. Glock-18 | Winterized in Well-Worn is the cheapest way to cover the pistol you start half your rounds with.
The AWP Is the One Gun Where the Floor Does Not Hold
Every weapon above lands on $0.10 except the AWP, which bottoms out at $0.16 for a Battle-Scarred AWP | Safari Mesh. That six-cent difference looks trivial and it points at something real.
Count how many finishes on each gun have a version under a dollar, and the spread is wide. The Tec-9 has 26 of its 48 finishes available under a dollar. The MAC-10 has 29 of 57. The AK-47 has 5 of 61, and the AWP has 4 of 52.
Demand concentrates on the guns people care about looking at. An AK-47 or AWP skin gets bought by players who want it in their loadout, so even the ugly finishes in bad wear have a buyer. A Tec-9 finish gets bought by almost nobody, so it falls to the floor and stays there. If you are filling out an inventory for the price of nothing, the pistols and SMGs are where the bargains sit, and our best CS2 skins list covers what people pick when budget stops being the constraint.
Knives and Gloves Start Around Forty Dollars, Not Forty Cents
The price bands above cover guns only. No knife and no pair of gloves in CS2 has a variant under thirty-five dollars, which changes how you plan a loadout around one.
| Item | Cheapest on 22 Oct 2026 | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|
| $38.88 in Battle-Scarred, the cheapest pair of gloves in the game | $39.16up to $179.79 | Check | |
| $38.98 in Battle-Scarred, ten cents behind the cheapest Hydra pair | $40.51up to $361.39 | Check | |
| $39.16 in Battle-Scarred, the third glove finish under forty dollars | $39.32up to $204.69 | Check | |
| $49.94 in Battle-Scarred, the cheapest knife entry on 22 October | $52.17up to $54.95 | Check | |
| $50.35 in Battle-Scarred, the cheapest of the Shadow Daggers finishes | $50.82up to $60.98 | Check | |
| $50.52 in Battle-Scarred, the second Navaja finish near the floor | $52.78up to $198.71 | Check |
Hydra Gloves are the glove type that stayed affordable while the rest ran away, which makes Mangrove the cheapest way into gloves at all. On the knife side, the Navaja and the Shadow Daggers set the floor because they are the two models collectors skip. Full breakdowns live in our lists of the cheapest CS2 knives and the cheapest CS2 gloves.
What a Ten Cent Skin Is Actually For
Three uses, in rough order of how often people do it.
- As a sticker base. A Battle-Scarred AK-47 | Safari Mesh costs ten cents and holds four sticker slots, and the stickers are where the money and the look come from. Our guide to sticker crafts goes through which bases take scrapes well.
- As trade-up fuel. Ten Mil-Spec finishes from one collection go into a trade-up contract and come out as one Restricted item from the same pool. The float of the output follows from the floats you put in, so cheap high-float inputs produce a high-float output. The odds are published, the maths is fixed, and nothing about it is free money.
- As a loadout you stop thinking about. Five pistols and three SMGs skinned for under a dollar total is a complete-looking inventory, and most of what you see in a match is your own pistol in the opening round.
Trading Up From the Floor
The ten-cent layer is where almost every inventory starts, and the way out of it is consolidation. Thirty cheap drops are worth less together than one item at the same total value, because nobody wants to make thirty separate trades to collect them.
Trade them on SkinsMonkey in one go and you end up with a single item you can actually move later. From there, the ladder runs the same way all the way to the top of the market, which we priced out in the most expensive CS2 skins. The difference between the two ends of this hobby is patience and the spread you accept on each step.
Bottom line
Spend the ten cents on pistols and SMGs, and treat the floor as a sticker base or trade-up fuel.
Almost every gun in CS2 has a finish at $0.10, so a complete-looking loadout costs under a dollar if you start with the pistols and SMGs. P250 | Boreal Forest and Galil AR | Sage Spray sit at the floor in Minimal Wear, which is as clean as a ten-cent skin gets, and Glock-18 | Winterized covers the pistol you start half your rounds with. Only the AWP stops higher, at $0.16.
Demand is the whole explanation. The Tec-9 has 26 of its 48 finishes under a dollar and the MAC-10 has 29 of 57, against 5 of 61 on the AK-47, because nobody buys a Tec-9 to look at it. That is also why a ten-cent skin works as a sticker base or as trade-up fuel and makes very little sense as something to hold.
Knives and gloves are a separate decision. Nothing in either category has a variant under thirty-five dollars, and the real entry on 22 October 2026 was $38.88 for Hydra Gloves | Mangrove and $49.94 for Navaja Knife | Safari Mesh.
FAQ
What is the cheapest skin in CS2?
Dozens of finishes share the title. The floor price is $0.10, and 256 different skins have a version listed at exactly that, mostly Battle-Scarred or Well-Worn copies of plain camo finishes on shotguns, SMGs and pistols. AK-47 | Safari Mesh in Field-Tested is the cheapest way to skin a rifle.
How much does the cheapest CS2 knife cost?
Around fifty dollars. Navaja Knife | Safari Mesh in Battle-Scarred sits at $49.94 and Shadow Daggers | Bright Water at $50.35, checked on 22 October 2026. Gloves start lower, with Hydra Gloves | Mangrove at $38.88.
Why are some CS2 skins only ten cents?
Because supply vastly exceeds demand for them. Finishes from heavily opened cases, on weapons nobody skins by choice, in the worst wear, have more sellers than buyers, so they sit at the minimum listing price.
Are cheap CS2 skins worth buying?
They work for three things: sticker bases, trade-up inputs, and filling a loadout without spending real money. As something to hold, a ten-cent skin has no room to fall and very little reason to rise.
