Cheapest AK-47 Skins in CS2: What Every Price Step Under $50 Buys

TL;DR

Three AK-47 skins share the lowest price on SkinsMonkey at $0.10: Safari Mesh, VariCamo Grey and Olive Polycam. Above the floor the useful steps are Wintergreen at $0.65, Emerald Pinstripe at $2.48 where the rarity tier changes, and Slate at $4.68 as the best cheap sticker base. Prices read 25 October 2026, normal variants only.

The AK-47 is the rifle most T side loadouts are built around, and it has one of the deepest skin catalogues of any gun in the game. Out of all AK-47 skins, three of them sit on exactly the same price: ten cents. That is a problem for a list like this one, because a straight ranking by price opens with a three-way tie and tells you nothing about which one to pick.

So this list is organised differently. It walks up the price ladder and names the cheapest AK-47 at each step, so you can see what ten cents buys, what a dollar buys, what three dollars buys and what five dollars buys. Every pick here starts under $5, and every one stays under $50 even in its cleanest condition, with one exception we flag below. All prices are SkinsMonkey prices read on 25 October 2026, normal variants only, and they move with the market.

How We Read These Prices and What Cheapest Means

Cheapest here means the floor wear, not the finish you want. Every range below spans all five wears from Battle-Scarred to Factory New, so the headline price is what the worst copy costs and the top of the range is what a clean one costs. On some of these skins that gap is cents and on one of them it is a hundred dollars, which is the single most useful thing to know before you start browsing.

The AK-47 costs $2,700 in the buy menu, deals 36 damage per body shot and carries 77.5% armor penetration, which is why it kills through armor at any range. That popularity is the whole reason the price spread is so wide: more players want an AK than any other rifle, so the Covert finishes get bid up and the low-rarity ones get ignored. The ignored ones are what this list is about. At the other end of the catalogue, covered in our most expensive AK-47 skins roundup, Wild Lotus runs $6,396.02 to $20,453.23, and even its cheapest wear is roughly sixty-four thousand times the ten cents at the bottom of this list, on the same gun model.

The $0.10 Floor: Olive Polycam, VariCamo Grey and Safari Mesh

$0.10 is the floor. It is the lowest price an AK-47 skin trades at on SkinsMonkey, and once a skin has more supply than demand it falls to that number and stops. It cannot go lower, so everything below a certain level of interest piles up on the same figure. All three skins here are Industrial Grade, the second-lowest rarity tier, and all three came out of collections and packages that dropped in enormous volume. There is no pricing signal left to read between them, so stop comparing prices and start comparing the skin.

Our pick at the floor. Olive green polygonal camo from The Sport & Field Collection, with facets big enough to see at arm’s length. Out of the three skins tied at ten cents, this is the one where you can tell a pattern is there, and the green gives it more character than the grey and brown options. With a $0.38 ceiling there is nothing to gain from chasing a low float, so buy whatever condition is in stock and spend the attention elsewhere in your loadout.

  • AK-47 | VariCamo Grey, $0.10 to $0.49, Industrial Grade from The Boreal Collection. Grey digital camo in small blocks across the body. The flattest of the three floor skins and the one that disappears most completely in game, which is either the point or the problem depending on what you want. The whole range is $0.10 to $0.49, so take whatever is cheapest. This is the one to buy if you only care that the slot is filled.
  • AK-47 | Safari Mesh, $0.10 to $8.32, Industrial Grade from the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package. Brown and tan desert camo over the whole receiver with almost no contrast. At the distance you see your own gun it reads as a slightly dirty stock AK rather than a skin, which is the honest assessment. The camo swallows scratches, so the worn conditions look the same as the clean ones and keep you at the floor; Factory New at $8.32 is the only reason this skin has any spread at all. A Souvenir version exists.

$0.65 to $2.50: The Mil-Spec Step Where Skins Start Looking Chosen

This is the first real step off the floor and the band where an AK stops looking like a stock rifle with dirt on it. Everything here is Mil-Spec Grade, one tier up, and the ceilings stay inside eleven dollars, so even a Factory New copy is pocket change.

02AK-47 | Wintergreen

AK-47 | Wintergreen

$0.65

The cheapest AK-47 that looks like somebody chose it. Pale green and white over most of the gun, out of The Boreal Collection, bright enough that it stands out against Inferno and Mirage walls rather than blending in. The base is light, so wear shows up as grime rather than scratches, and Battle-Scarred loses the cold tone that is the whole appeal. The range runs $0.65 to $5.01, and Factory New at $5.01 is a lot of that range for a small visual gain.

  • AK-47 | Uncharted, $0.78 to $2.34, Mil-Spec Grade from the Prisma Case. Olive and grey with a contour map print across the magazine and receiver. Quieter than Wintergreen and better suited to a loadout that is already mostly dark greens and browns. The whole range tops out at $2.34, so paying up for Minimal Wear buys very little. StatTrak exists, and on a skin this cheap it is one of the few places a kill counter is within reach for most inventories.
  • AK-47 | Elite Build, $2.00 to $9.40, Mil-Spec Grade from the Chroma 2 Case. Grey body with orange accents on the furniture and a built-up tactical look. It has been the default first AK skin for years, which cuts both ways: instantly recognisable, and instantly recognisable as a cheap AK. The orange is the part that sells it, and it wears badly, so Minimal Wear at $4.04 rather than the floor. StatTrak exists.
  • AK-47 | Steel Delta, $2.10 to $10.40, Mil-Spec Grade from the Anubis Collection Package. A dark plated industrial finish with cool-toned panels, built on CS2 rendering rather than a 2015 texture. The cleanest-looking skin in this band, and it photographs better than it plays, since most of the panel detail sits where you do not look mid-round. Hard panel edges mean wear shows as chipping along the seams. A Souvenir version exists.
  • AK-47 | Crossfade, $2.45 to $5.17, Mil-Spec Grade from The Graphic Design Collection. A flat graphic treatment with a colour gradient across the body, more poster than camo, and one of the few cheap AKs that does not try to look military. Flat graphic skins are where wear does the most damage, because scratches cut straight through the artwork with nothing to hide behind, and the spread is narrow enough that the step up costs little.

$2.48 to $3.65: Where the Rarity Tier Changes

$2.48 is the price at which the rarity tier changes. For less than the cost of a coffee you move from Mil-Spec into Restricted, which is the tier most of the recognisable AK finishes live in. This is the band where the clean condition starts doing visible work, because three of the four picks here have finishes that show wear.

03AK-47 | Emerald Pinstripe

AK-47 | Emerald Pinstripe

$2.51

The step that buys the most on this whole list. A deep green lacquer with thin bright stripes running down the body, from The Bank Collection, and the most expensive-looking skin here by a clear margin. This is one of the few picks where Factory New is defensible: thin pinstripes break up fast as float rises, and a Battle-Scarred copy loses the gloss that makes the green read as lacquer. The range runs $2.48 to $15.32, and the clean copies sit at the top of it. A Souvenir version exists.

  • AK-47 | Breakthrough, $2.61 to $10.84, Restricted from The Achroma Collection. Greyscale by design, as the collection name suggests, with a fractured pattern across the receiver. The pick for a monochrome loadout where a coloured AK would fight everything else in the slot. A greyscale skin hides wear better than a coloured one, so Field-Tested at $3.25 holds up and the saving is real.
  • AK-47 | Midnight Laminate, $2.91 to $16.08, Restricted from The Ascent Collection. A dark laminated finish with a purple cast, close to a plain colour on a solid body. On its own it looks basic, and that is exactly why it works: a near-solid body is the best canvas a cheap AK gives you, so a sticker craft sits flat and reads clearly instead of fighting a pattern. Laminate shows wear as dull patches, and dull patches under a sticker look bad, so buy the cleanest one you are willing to pay for. A Souvenir version exists.
  • AK-47 | Safety Net, $3.65 to $15.23, Restricted from the London 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package. A dark body under a bright mesh overlay, busy up close and surprisingly tidy at playing distance. It is a 2018 Major skin, so it carries a bit of history that none of the collection skins above it do, and the Souvenir version with the London stickers exists if you care about that provenance. The mesh is high-contrast enough to absorb float, so Field-Tested at $3.67.

Under $5: Slate and Rat Rod at the Clean End

The top of this list, and the two picks that behave least like budget skins. One of them is the best cheap sticker base in the game and the other has the widest wear spread of anything here by a distance.

AK-47 | Slate

$4.71

Near-solid matte black with minimal detail, out of the Snakebite Case. In game it looks like a blacked-out AK, which is either the cleanest skin on this list or the most boring, depending on taste. Its real job is as a sticker base: since the sticker rework a solid black body is the most forgiving surface we know for crafts, and Slate is the cheapest near-black AK on the gun. This is the one entry where we would skip the cheap conditions outright, because matte black shows every scuff and a Battle-Scarred copy defeats the point of buying a solid-colour skin. The range runs $4.68 to $19.31 and StatTrak exists. Slate also appears on our list of the best AK-47 skins in CS2, which is the list to read if your budget goes past five dollars.

  • AK-47 | Rat Rod, $4.80 to $106.73, Restricted from the Shattered Web Case. Bare rusted metal with chipped paint, designed to look beaten up. It is the one skin here where heavy wear is part of the art direction rather than a compromise, and in dollars it has by far the widest range on this list. Buy the cheap end deliberately: the worn conditions are where Rat Rod is supposed to live, and paying toward $106.73 for a skin whose whole theme is rust is hard to justify. It is also the only pick here that can break $50 at the clean end, which is worth knowing before you start browsing. A Souvenir version exists.

Which of the Cheap AK-47 Skins Actually Look Good

At this end of the market the thing you are choosing is whether the skin reads at all. In the default CS2 viewmodel the magazine and the right side of the receiver fill most of the frame, so a finish that puts its pattern there registers every round and a finish that spreads a faint camo evenly over the whole rifle does not. Five of the picks on this list are genuinely visible guns and the rest fill a slot, which is a fair thing to want when the whole gun costs less than a coffee.

Does Wear Matter on a Cheap AK-47

On most of this list the answer is no, and that is the saving. At the floor the whole range is cents: VariCamo Grey runs $0.10 to $0.49 and Olive Polycam $0.10 to $0.38, so a Factory New copy costs pennies more than a Battle-Scarred one and looks almost identical at playing distance. Where it does matter is the handful of finishes whose surface carries the design, and the table below is the reason to pay attention to which group a skin is in.

How to Get One Without Opening Cases

Opening cases for a cheap AK makes no sense and it is worth being blunt about why. Most of the skins on this list come from specific cases and collections, and the odds of pulling the one you want are poor enough that you will usually spend more on keys than the skin costs outright. Slate is a $4.68 skin from the Snakebite Case. Opening Snakebite cases until Slate appears is the expensive way to get a cheap skin.

The Steam Community Market works, with two catches that hit hardest at this price point. Money that goes in stays in your Steam Wallet, and Valve takes a cut of every sale, which is a meaningful share of a transaction measured in cents rather than dollars. For a ten-cent skin, the fee structure is most of the price. Trading is the cleaner route at the bottom of the market: on SkinsMonkey you log in through Steam, pick the AK-47 you want and the bot sends it in seconds, with no listing to wait on and no wallet lock, and you never enter your Steam password on the site.

One practical note before you buy anything at this end: check what you already own. A single unwanted case or a low-tier skin sitting in your inventory often covers a ten-cent AK outright, and our CS2 Inventory Value Checker will tell you what you are holding in about a minute.

Our pick at each step up the ladder

Bottom line

Olive Polycam at the floor, Emerald Pinstripe if you have three dollars

If you want the cheapest AK-47 that still looks like a choice, buy AK-47 | Olive Polycam at $0.10. All three floor skins cost the same, and it is the only one of the three with a pattern you can actually read in game, with a ceiling of $0.38 that means float is not worth thinking about. Buy whatever condition is in stock and spend the attention elsewhere in your loadout.

If you can go to a few dollars, the step that buys the most is AK-47 | Emerald Pinstripe at $2.48. That is the price where the rarity tier changes from Mil-Spec to Restricted, and it is the one skin on this list that does not look like a budget skin. The two picks worth paying up for in condition are Emerald Pinstripe and AK-47 | Slate at $4.68, because both have finishes that wear visibly. Everything else here is best bought in the worn conditions, where the saving is real and the difference is not.

FAQ

What is the cheapest AK-47 skin in CS2?

Three AK-47 skins share the lowest price on SkinsMonkey at $0.10: AK-47 | Safari Mesh, AK-47 | VariCamo Grey and AK-47 | Olive Polycam. All three are Industrial Grade. Because the price cannot go any lower, there is nothing to choose between them on cost, so pick on looks and on which wear is in stock. Prices read 25 October 2026.

What can I get on an AK-47 for under $50?

Almost anything in the budget tier, in its cleanest condition. Every skin on this list has a top-of-range price under fifty dollars except AK-47 | Rat Rod, which runs to $106.73. AK-47 | Slate tops out at $19.31, AK-47 | Midnight Laminate at $16.08 and AK-47 | Emerald Pinstripe at $15.32, so fifty dollars buys the clean version of several of them rather than the entry price of one.

Which cheap AK-47 skin is best for sticker crafts?

AK-47 | Slate, at $4.68 to $19.31, for its near-solid matte black body, and AK-47 | Midnight Laminate, at $2.91 to $16.08, as the cheaper alternative. Both are close to a plain colour, so stickers read clearly instead of competing with a pattern. Buy these two in Minimal Wear or better, since wear shows through a sticker.

Does wear matter on cheap AK-47 skins?

Less than people assume, and it depends on the finish. On camo and greyscale skins such as AK-47 | Safari Mesh, AK-47 | Olive Polycam and AK-47 | Breakthrough, the pattern hides scratches and the worn conditions look the same in game, so buy cheap. On solid colours, lacquers and thin-line patterns such as AK-47 | Slate, AK-47 | Emerald Pinstripe and AK-47 | Crossfade, wear is visible and the clean conditions are worth the step up.
